The Jaimie Anderson Parliamentary Internship was created to honour the memory of Jaimie Anderson, a remarkable young woman who had a passion for politics and an abiding respect for people of different points of view.
The Internship in her name has three essential goals:
- to create positive experiences for young people on Parliament Hill,
- to encourage a spirit of fellowship among people who work in and around national politics
- and to raise the visibility of the efforts many people put into making our political life better.
The Internship provides paid summer internships to young people who demonstrate a strong level of personal effort in the academic or other life pursuits, and who have a keen interest in learning more about and making a contribution to our political life as a country.
As part of the work to build and sustain this internship we organize events designed to bring together people from different political parties, news media organizations, and the Ottawa public policy community to share experiences and collaborate for a good cause.
